Making his first public appearance since news of his Texas pot bust took over headlines, Armie Hammer was spotted arriving at the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday evening (January 29).

The “Social Network” stud and wife Elizabeth Chambers were both clad in Gucci as they hammed it up on the red carpet at the Shrine Exposition Center venue before hitting the entrance ahead of the annual Tinseltown celebration of cinema.

Not just a mere spectator, Mr Hammer happens to have the important task of presenting an award, with fellow trophy passer-outers including George Clooney, Michelle Williams, Brad Pitt, Zoe Saldana and Natalie Portman.

Also among the nominees, Hammer's "J Edgar" efforts have landed him in the running for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Supporting Role while competing against Nick Nolte, Kenneth Branagh, Jonah Hill and Christopher Plummer.

With the ceremony airing live on TNT and TBS beginning at 8 p.m. (ET), the night will also see Dick Van Dyke present Screen Actors Guild’s 48th Life Achievement Award to Mary Tyler Moore.
