Gathering together to help usher in the new year, a handful of stars lent their star power to the New Year's Eve 2012 with Carson Daly special in New York City on Saturday night (December 31).

The Nivea sponsored event took place in Times Square, with the show's host being joined by guests including Emmy Rossum, J.B Smoove, Amy Robach and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

As for the musical entertainment, the gathered crowd got revved up ahead of the stroke of midnight by acts including Drake, Jessie J, Cee Lo Green, Megan Hilty and The Roots.

Feeling quite fortunate to be able to hold court at such a special annual showcase, Daly told press, "There is no better place to be in the world on New Year's Eve than in Times Square. I look forward to this night all year - to ring in the New Year with millions of people across the country - it's a blast!"
